You know when you see an item of clothing and you think “that’d literally be the best item of clothing ever, if only a couple of teeny, tiny changes were made.” Well, the was me with Cyberdog’s fluro tartan, micro-kilt.

I love the fabric, love the pleats, not so keen on the front point, so I sewed it up, quick and easy. Then there was those black buckles, eurgh (what were they thinking??). They had to go and they were replaced with a lovely green version (just works so much better to me).

Now it’s my favourite skirt :D What do you guy think? Made it worse or made it better?

It used to be plain white t-shirt in a size tent, so I dyed it pink, restructured, added mesh panels and a yellow frill trim. TA DA!

DILEMMA.

I had an amazing idea for an outfit for MCM July/J-Con, had the fabrics, patterns, findings and everything sorted. But then I discovered that my idea pretty much already exists, a la this Milklim creation!

Well, I had a few variations to theirs in the form of; 3/4 length leg with pink ribbing on the bottom, permanent attached hood with pink lining, no pockets or embellishments, pink zip to fasten, short sleeves & the fabric I’m using is a lilac jersey with green polka dots (the same one I used for my most recent hoody). So it would be a bit different & a bit more kigurumi style.

I’m wondering whether to go ahead and make it anyway, I’m very concious of being called out as a ‘copy cat’, but I really, really like the idea. Milklim’s is brilliant, but it’s not exactly what I want. I just hope that my version would be different enough to not attract negative attention.

Opinions? Shall I make it anyway & scrap it if it’s shit?

I’ve been editing a montage video of the weekend all night, but I’ve lost my focus and will have to finish it after work tomorrow. I’ll post it when it’s done, along with a gushing report on how amazing Kita was. So for now, here’s a picture of me trying to get a shot of my hoodie I made for the Saturday of the con.

I can’t get over how good it was. Why can’t there be one next year??

Yack, yack, yack.

This fabric, a light, stretch jersey, has been at my local fabric store for weeks. I’m not even that bothered about Mickey, I just really like that the pattern is made of perforations rather than printed, so today I gave in and got some. I asked for half a metre in width (you know, make a simple top or whatever) and it wasn’t until I got home and measured it and saw that it was 3m in length, jeez!

I’ve been really lame recently, and only done drips and drabs of DIY work, so I wanna get back in to it, yo! Be a bit more adventurous and exciting with my work.

So, I can’t decide what to do with it, a simple top just seems a boring waste. I thought it’d suit a cardigan, but it’s too thin for that :/. So help, please?
